DIESEL JET BOAT ….!!!
We thought we would share a very different project we have been involved with recently… A 1KD POWERED JET BOAT
I was originally approached a couple years ago after a customer got wind I was looking into doing a diesel motor with a combination to suit a JET boat application and he was very interested in doing the same. Well here’s the fruition of this original concept in its final form. I must say it goes extremely well indeed.
The combination of parts we have utilised has fit this application better than expected and is delivering very very close to the original concepts goals.
We currently have the highest pitch blades currently available for the 8.5 southern jet fitted running a 23deg 4 blade front and a 27deg 4bladed rear empeller spinning to 3700rpm and it could do with more on the front blade.
Giving us a current gpsd speed of 94kph on flat water (no current).
Motor mods as follows:
- COMPLETE + INJECTORS
- TDOXTDA TURBO
- WTA INTERCOOLER
- KRAE CUSTOM INLET PLENUM
- KRAE WATERCOOLED EXHAUST MANIFOLD
- EXTERNAL OIL COOLER
- HEAT EXCHANGER
Its Running the oe ecu with and a uni x for dialling it all in together. This setup is estimated to be producing around 350hp on 28psi by 3600. There’s not much more to say really other than check out the photos and a few videos below.
